I was just out walking my dogs and I noticed something interesting that sparked the idea to write about the Ary VacMaster VP215 Chamber Vacuum Sealer. Seems odd right? It’s because there was a Food Saver vacuum sealer sitting in a free box with a pile of other stuff that somebody decided to get rid of, such as a broken plastic colander and an old pair of sandals.
It made me think about the stuff people buy and the inclination people have to buy based on price rather than quality. Suffice it to say the Food Saver is not really a quality item that will last. Example, 15 years ago I was buying a new vacuum cleaner every two years until I bought a Miele. (This is the one I bought, it was one of the less expensive Mieles at the time but still two to three times what other brands cost.) It was more expensive but it’s saved me money ultimately, and even more importantly it has saved me the hassle of dealing with inferior vacuum cleaners.
This is why I recommend using a more expensive, quality product like the VacMaster VP215. Definitely for commercial use but also for home use if you use a vacuum sealer on a regular basis. One of these units will last you a lot longer than the less expensive brands and it will do a much, much better job for you.
If there’s a constant issue I hear about from people who do a lot of sous vide cooking, it’s not the sous vide units themselves — it’s the unreliable vacuum sealers. Elsewhere I have discussed some lower priced vacuum sealer units to try, and some that are very popular but not very good.
So let’s stop messing around and just go for the Ary VacMaster VP215 Chamber Vacuum Sealer.

How it Works
Chamber vacuum sealers really are superior to any other kind of sealer. The way it works os different than other types. When you use a chamber vacuum seal machine, you set the vacuum pouch inside the chamber and then close the lid. The machine sucks the air out of the chamber, not just the pouch like other machines. This allows the pouch contents (liquids included) to stay inside the pouch because the air pressure is equalized inside and outside the pouch.
Here are the measurements for the chamber:
11¼”W x 15¼”D x 5″H
Save Money on Bags
I just want to talk about the vacuum bags for a minute. This unit will save you money on bags in the long run, and if you do a lot of vacuum sealing then you will see the saving add up in no time.
Here is an example of bags for sale on Amazon for Food Saver and other brands. The pack contains a variety of sizes with a total of 150 bags for about $25 as of this writing. And 50 of those bags are pint size which really limits what you can do with them. There are also 50 quart-sized and 50 gallon-sized.
Here is a pack of VacMaster bags in the 8 x 10 inch size. You get 500 bags for around $50.
If you do more than an occasional amount of vacuum sealing then it really could make your life easier to get a unit like this one. Your food will be preserved better and you won’t end up having to replace a unit that suddenly gave up the ghost early in its life.
